About

My work has always been inspired by my impressions of society. I think about different cultural adages, sayings, and ideas. When doing so, I attempt to reinterpret and rethink what we are actually saying as a culture. I take these and transform them into the literal, sometimes absurd images.

I do reductive woodblock printing to execute on these ideas as it is fairly accessible; wood, ink, paper and a little elbow grease is all I need. While it is accessible it is unforgiving; make one mistake and the image can be ruined. The results achieved are very graphic, showcasing stylized, definite lines.

Things that inspire me:

tacky lawn ornaments

old kitchen appliances

John Steinbeck

vintage clothing

music

vintage automobiles
